La stèle et la plaque en souvenir de Léon Mandrillon

En 1944, Léon Mandrillon, 66 ans, est le chef de l'Armée Secrète du Haut-Jura. Dans ce groupe de résistants, il y a aussi son fils Julien, son neveu Roger Mandrillon et quelques autres dont Maurice Rollandez.

Le 17 Juin, des colonnes de soldats allemands sont annoncées dans la région et Léon envoie Julien porter cette information aux résistants de Lamoura. Mais en revenant, celui-ci est intercepté à Clavières par une patrouille nazie qui arrive par la route de Lajoux. Julien est fouillé puis fusillé sur le champs : les allemands ont reconnu que c'était un résistant.

Les soldats allemands se font alors guider jusque chez Léon Mandrillon, au village de Septmoncel. Léon avait probablement été dénoncé car les allemands avaient une photographie de sa maison. Quand ils arrivent, ils tirent sur la maison. Léon essaie de s'enfuir par une fenêtre mais il est touché aux jambes par une balle. Ensuite un officier nazi s'approche de lui pour l'achever d'une balle dans la tête.

Roger n'a pas non plus le temps de s'échapper : il se fait arrêter, embarquer à Saint-Claude puis déporter au camp de Dachau en Allemagne.

Par contre, Maurice Rollandez a juste le temps de s'enfuir en évitant les balles.
